SAGE Presents: What Doctoral Researchers Need to Know About Book Publishing

The Research Hive and SAGE proudly present:

What Doctoral Researchers Need to Know
About Book Publishing
with Dr. Patrick Brindle,
Publisher for Online Content, SAGE Publications

Wednesday, 30 January 2013, 1.00-3.00pm
Library Meeting Room/Research Hive

An opportunity to explore the possibilities, challenges, and practicalities of publishing your thesis as a book and submitting chapters to edited collections with a publishing expert.
Dr. Brindle will provide advice on getting early career work published in an increasingly competitive marketplace and industry in flux.

Patrick will also give advice about the skills and strategies involved in writing for publication, and about other publication opportunities beyond the book.
A light lunch will be provided in the second floor Library Meeting Room at 1.00pm, with the workshop to follow in the Research Hive at 1.30. The session will end with a Q&A session; if you have any specific questions or topics that you would like Patrick to cover please send them to us at researchhive@sussex.ac.uk. Participants will also have the chance to ask questions following the talk.

The event is free and open to everyone conducting doctoral or early career research at Sussex, but places are strictly limited, so reserve yours through Sussex Direct today!

Supported by SAGE, the natural home for authors, editors and societies.
