Buddy Scheme for PhDs

The Buddy Scheme needs PhD students like you! You know that starting a PhD is a very exciting time, but it can also be a stressful time for some. By signing up to be a Buddy Volunteer you will be put in contact with a new student arriving in September to help alleviate any initial worries or fears they may have. You can assist them in developing new social networks and generally helping them to settle into life at Sussex by sharing your own experiences. You don’t need to meet up, you can be just as helpful by offering your advice and support online.

Volunteering to help another student is a rewarding and fulfilling experience but it also offers you access to attend free skills training sessions which look great on your CV and PG and PhD only events such as Coffee Mornings, Cocktail Nights and Ale Trails!
Be a part of the Sussex PhD community. The Buddy Scheme is recruiting now for PhD Buddy Volunteers for academic year 2016/17. It only takes a minute to sign up and you could really make a difference.
