Welcoming New Researchers and More Hive Events

The Hive is looking forward to welcoming new researchers joining Sussex this January. We imagine it must be a strange time to be starting your PhD journey but we, the Hive and the existing researchers, hope that we can offer support and community. We’d like to welcome you – the new researchers – over our traditional game of ‘Lie to the Hive’ on 19th January at 2pm. Sign up via bit.ly/HiveMeets and we’ll send you the relevant details closer to the event. It will be an informal event and a lovely chance to meet your peers and know who the Hive Scholars are and what we do!

Additionally, we have some good news for all you hard workers (and those whose new years resolution is to write more towards your PhD this year!) who have been asking us for more group writing sessions such as Breakfast Serial Writing. We will now be hosting Breakfast Serial sessions twice a week rather than once. Starting 1st Feb, BSW will happen every Tuesday and Friday from 10 am – 12 pm. You can sign up here: bit.ly/breakfastserial

We are also pleased to announce our Spring calendar for the Tea and Talk sessions. This is a great way to unwind, talk about anything that’s on your mind about your research, and have a general check-in with other researchers over a cup of tea or coffee 🙂

Finally, we are so happy that hundreds of you have signed up for the new round of our care packages but we still have room for a few more. If you are a Sussex researcher, sign up through bit.ly/CarePackages21 and we’ll send you a care package in the coming month!

Feel free to write to us on researchhive@sussex.ac.uk or DM us (and follow us!) on Instagram or Twitter (both as @sussexreshive) if you have any questions and need support from the doctoral community. We look forward to seeing you at one of these events!
